Connecting To The Server As An Observer

  • Create a callsign (XXX_OBS) eg. User Fred Samuel Jones would be FSJ_OBS
  • Select your appropriate rating (All members are observer by default)
  • Type your real name that you are registered with otherwise, you will be disconnected!
  • Type the IP Address of the server (Port is ALWAYS 6809)
  • Leave the transmitter elevation at 0
  • Fill in your CID & Password
  • Select your facility as 'Observer'

As an observer you are not allowed more than 200nm of visibility range

Connecting As A Controller

Warning: You must be a member of a ARTCC/CTD within your division and validated on a position before controlling. Please visit the global rating policy for information.

  • Select the appropriate callsign for your position (XXXX_GND/_TWR/_APP/_CTR/...)
  • Select your appropriate rating (you are not allowed to control as an observer)
  • Type your real name
  • Select the server you would like to connect to and type in the IP address (Port is ALWAYS 6809)
  • Leave your transmitter elevation at 0 (unless _CTR - this may be changed)
  • Fill in your CID & Password
  • Select the appropriate facility/position (eg:Tower, Approach, Center)
  • Open the "Radar" menu then click "options" and click the "Misc" tab.
  • login onto the teamspeak server of your choice (eg: eu.virtual-skies.com) using your CID and password
  • The first line of your ATIS must be voiceserveraddress:port/callsign (eg: eu.virtual-skies.com/EGBB_TWR)
  • To set your frequency you must use the following command //<frequency>

Information

  • Please check your division forum for visibility ranges. These ranges must not be exceeded on the listed positions or you will be asked to change it.
  • Your text ATIS must not be longer than 4 lines (excluding the teamspeak details). Please check the forum for details


Commands

  • .wx IDENT - Requests the weather for a specified identifier
  • .ATIS CALLSIGN - Requests the ATIS of another controller
  • .CHAT CALLSIGN - Opens a private chat window for callsign
  • .WALLOP PLAYER CALLSIGN - MESSAGE - Sends a private message to all supervisors online
  • / Message - Sends a message in the ATC channel
  • // Frequency - Sets your frequency shown in ATC listings
